Tobago.... The True Caribbean
Tobago.... The True Caribbean
Fancy a change from the Red Sea?, Perhaps something a little further afield that still offers outstanding value for money?..... If so, you should be looking at Tobago!
For the diver the nutrient rich waters surrounding Tobago attract a wide variety of coral and marine life, for the non diver, or non diving days Tobago Forest Reserve claims to be the oldest protected forests in the Western world. This forested area has great many species of birds, mammals, frogs, snakes and butterflies, ideal for the nature lovers and great for topside photographers.
Toucan Inn & Bonkers
At Pigeon Point, the southern end of the island we have a cracking boutique resort "Toucan Inn", a small and friendly 20 room hotel with teakwood Caribbean Style décor set amidst an oasis of lush tropical gardens.
Bonkers restaurant and bar at The Toucan Inn is open for breakfast, lunch & evening meals, B&B, half board and all inclusive meal plans are available.
The cuisine of Tobago is indicative of the blends of Amerindian, European, African, Creole, Indian, Chinese and Lebanese gastronomic influences. Tobago's most famous traditional dish is curried crab and dumplings, which you can find in a few restaurants and at informal outlets, also don't forget to try the traditional fish broth.... or the local rum punch
R & Sea Divers
Just 5 minutes from Toucan Inn is the departure point for the daily scuba diving trips with R & Sea Divers. Ideally located on the beach along the road to Pigeon Point, this is one of Tobago's most popular beaches.
Scuba Diving in Tobago - the most exciting way to experience the breathtaking beauty of Caribbean scuba diving. Some of the dive sites within a short boat ride from the dive shop include Flying Reef, Cove Crack, The Shallows and Majeston.
Heading north on the Caribbean side of the island, Mount Irvine Wall and the wreck of the MV Maverick are two of the most popular scuba diving sites around Tobago.
