Net hazard on the Scylla

Divers have been warned away from the Scylla as a 45m-long monofilament fishing net has become entangled on the wreck. The net is covering a large part of the wreck, which lies near Plymouth, making dive conditions extremely dangerous. In a statement, the National Marine Aquarium said it strongly advised against any dives on the artificial reef until the situation had been sorted.
It is working towards removing the net. 'Rest assured that we are doing everything possible to resolve this situation and will announce when we feel that normal diving conditions have been met,' the statement said.
The National Marine Aquarium coordinated the sinking of the Scylla as an artificial reef in 2004.
