The baby shark's mother is expected to give birth to more pups soon. The new arrival was born prematurely and has been placed in a special nursery tank where it will be closely monitored. Angel sharks can grow to 2m in length. In 2006 they were declared extinct in the North Sea and the species is listed as 'critically endangered' on the International Union for Conservation of Nature's (ICUN) Red List.
