Scuba Santas to raise money for RNLI

Last year, the group set a world record for the largest number of simultaneous scuba diving Santas when 158 divers in fancy dress dived at inland dive site Vobster Quay in Somerset. They also raised more than £10,000 for the lifeboat charity.
‘We’d love to welcome back those who attended last year and extend the invitation to other scuba diving Santas - who knows we may even break our own world record,’ said event organiser Lloyd Watkin. ‘The RNLI volunteers play such a vital role in allowing us to do our sport, as divers we never know when we might need to call upon their help and it is extremely reassuring to know they are there should we need them. However as a charity they need our support in order to provide this service to anyone in trouble at sea and this is our rather unusual and festive way of giving something back.’
The event will be held at Vobster Quay on 19 December 2010. For more information, visit the website www.scuba-santas.co.uk
