The Story of the Thistlegorm
![]() |
This 112-page softback is his take on the Thistlegorm, detailing every aspect of the iconic vessel’s history from its construction in the yards of JL Thompson to its famous demise in the Egyptian Red Sea.
The level of detail is dizzying, with enough pictures and data about the ship’s cargo to please the most ardent Thistlegorm geeks. In the diving sections of the book, you get maps, graphics, photographs, recommended tours… even a section on how to approach the wreck as a night dive.
You can tell from the variable print reproduction and the more eccentric aspects of the writing style that this is very much a self-published piece, but that should not detract from the pleasure to be had poring over its pages, and the wealth of detail inside.
