Seasoned British diver and Tyneside BSAC chairman, Richard Booth, 48, reports on the wonders of the Isle of Islay off the west coast of Scotland in this month's GB Dives. Qualifying as a BSAC third class diver in 1976 while at Stonyhurst College in North Yorkshire, he completed his open water dives in local quarries and the nearby River Ribble. Since then he has dived all over the world, including the entire length of the Red Sea, the Maldives, Galápagos, Cocos, Papua New Guinea and South Africa.
