The body of a diver who went missing near Seahouses, off the Northumberland coast has been identified.

The body of a diver who went missing near Seahouses, off the Northumberland coast has been identified. Stephen Pond, 53, from Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, was diving on the World War Two wreck Somali when he became separated from his buddy on Sunday 18 May.

He was reported missing after he failed to surface and return to the dive boat Sovereign Three. A massive air sea search operation was launched, but failed to find the diver.

His body was discovered near the wreck three weeks following the incident.
