The Aladin has been on the market for some time and is the simplest of all the computers we tested. It is only suitable for diving on air. The display is clear and simple, with a bar graph as well as a numeric value for the cylinder pressure. Similar to other computers in the Uwatec range, settings are made by joining up two contacts with wet fingers, which means there are no button seals to leak. But the downside is that the settings cannot be changed underwater. The computer gives all the information you need, the only noticeable exception being water temperature and clock. Fairly chunky, the Aladin is housed in a rubber-backed, solidly built housing. At £365 it is considerably cheaper than the others on the market.
Great value for money, robust, but no nitrox capability. Score: 3.5 out of 5.
