Twin Jet Max, £139 including spring straps
The Twin Jet Max features blades that combine two materials in orderto maximise performance. Scubapro claims that the drag-reducing vents decrease resistance on both the up and down strokes, while an extended soleplate acts like a lever to enhance power. The soft, vented foot pocket providesa comfortable fit, while quick-connect swivel buckles are included with springstraps for ease of use.
Full marks go to Scubapro for the fact it ships the Twin Jet Max fins with spring straps as standard. Once you’ve used them, you’ll never return to the standard rubber ones. The XL size is enormous – they fully accommodate my drysuit boots, and feel comfortable and secure in the water. Of the split fins we've tested, the Twin Jets feel as though they deliver the most power, but perhaps are not as manoeuvrable and feel a bit heavy compared with some of the others. The biggest issue may be the price tag, as the fins are almost twice the costof the Northern Diver Codas and IST Talarias.
