All seams are rubber-taped for extra strength, and the knees are further protected with spongy neoprene and Kevlar-lined kneepads.
For comfort, internal braces keep the suit in place while the elasticated waist draws in excess material. The right thigh features a zipped bellows pocket with D-ring, and Typhoon has borrowed an idea from the surfing fraternity by adding a key pocket – ideal for when shore diving, for instance. For extra warmth, it has a large neoprene collar (into which you can tuck your hood), while the boots are lined with thermic neoprene.
The suit is easy to put on and take off, and it offers better than average movement underwater. It’s the cheapest suit of all on test here, but it doesn’t feel that way. Only time would tell if it is robust as the others, but if you are looking for a trilaminate suit, the TRX represents excellent value for money.
Verdict: good-value and good-looking flexible suit
