The forearms, knees, socks and seat are also protected using a stretchy type of Kevlar.
The zip runs diagonally from the back of the left shoulder across the torso, making it easier to put on and take off the suit, and is protected by a neoprene flap on the outside. All seals are made from stretchy neoprene, and resemble seals normally found on a semi-dry wetsuit. The suit comes as standard with soft boots – Poseidon supplies outer rock boots as an optional extra for £45.
The Flexisuit is amazing: it feels more like a loosely fitting tropical wetsuit and its neoprene construction makes it incredibly lightweight. The over-the-shoulder zip makes it possible to do it up by yourself – although undoing it was more challenging, as the zip ends up behind your shoulder blade.
Verdict: flexible and lightweight, making it ideal to travel with – Poseidon has rewritten the rulebook on neoprene suits
