We thought the A-clamp first stage looked a bit chunky; it has has four low-pressure and two high-pressure ports with the hoses coming out in a vertical layout. The regulator has a venturi control on its top, but we found it difficult to locate and operate. When stationary, bubbles from the short exhaust ports interfered with your vision. Everyone who tried this reg thought it was sensitive to depth and even though the purge felt stiff, it seemed to be on the verge of free-flowing, though this effect stopped at 15m. It was very easy to breathe from, although we felt that this regulator would be better for shallower rather than deep diving.
Verdict: A good first regulator for shallow diving
