232-bar 0.4 cylinder £30, integrated weights £40
It differs from the others tested here in that it relies totally on AP Valves’ own camband system and can’t be used with conventional steel bands. This, however, is not necessarily a bad thing, as for a mere £25 for the twin-set kit you can quickly carry two cylinders, either as a manifolded twin-set or as independents. For the tekkie diver on the move, this not only makes this wing compact but also relatively lightweight. The bare minimum of D-rings come as standard but this is to allow you to add you own where you specifically want them. Other options include the Auto-Air, integrated weight/cargo pouches, emergency air cylinder and redundant bladder. The Tekwing is easy to get to grips with and all ‘controls’ are easy to operate with 5mm gloved hands. The twin crotch straps are useful when using a large set, as is the large handle, which makes it a lot easier to lift the set out of the water when, say, diving from a RIB.
