I was interested to know what other features had been added to make the Selene suitable for women. As I’m not shaped like a woman, I enlisted the help of Mrs H to help me understand the feminine features.
The bladder has a high-cut line that apparently ensures easier hip movement. On the shoulder section, a removable high sternum strap minimises pressure on the chest area – but why supply it in the first place? The position on the shoulders behind the neck is linked to the new angle-width adjuster, so even women with narrow shoulders can be sure that the jacket will not slip off. The thick padding on the lumbar, back and shoulder pads certainly got the thumbs-up, providing plenty of support and protection. Lastly, the weight-integration pouches are angled downwards, which arguably makes them easier to load and release. A male version (Imprex Pro Cube) is also available.
VERDICT >> Female design shapes up well
Maximum lift 15kg
Performance 7/10
